• Stage 1: measure equality of participation in Group 1 in f2f mode and in Group 2 in cmc mode
  
  
• Stage 2: measure equality of participation in Group 1 in cmc mode and in Group 2 in f2f mode
  
  
• Issues:
  

1. Comparability of groups is less crucial because each engages in both modes
   
   
2. Is the difference between the f2f and cmc modes limited to just the mode, ie we cannot set the same topic of discussion for each, otherwise they would discuss the same topic twice (also a problem for Design A)?
