In the final two sessions on the last day of the course you will work in groups to work through the process of developing a research design based on a selection of broadly defined research interests. Within the workshop sessions you will explore the difficulties inherent in refining a research topic and constructing a coherent research design.
For each of the examples, you will be asked to discuss and begin to formulate:
* A clearly focussed research topic or researchable question
* An outline of your methods
* Approach to sampling
* Key conceptual issues
* Ethical issues
