Classification This expression derives from Bernstein (1996) - see my critical discussion of Bernstein's conceptual apparatus, available on my website. Classification refers to the extent to which the mode of expression and/or content of a practice or text are specialised (high discursive saturation) or localised (low discursive saturation) with respect to practices or texts relating to other activities.
