Monitoring Progress
- Special Progress Review (IoE guidelines)
- May be implemented (eg as an outcome of the Annual Review) where the student has failed to make progress, eg:
- Failure to complete assignments on time
- Consistent failure to meet negotiated deadlines
- Three months duration (extendable by a maximum of another three month period)
- Explicit objectives negotiated by supervisor, student, advisory committee, research tutor
- Regular meetings between student and supervisor and fast feedback by supervisor on work submitted
- At the end of the 3 month period, progress reviewed by student, supervisor, advisory committee and research tutor resulting in:
- removal from special progress review status
- student to interrupt registration (guidance provided on what is to be achieved during interruption)
- withdrawal from registration
- special progress review period extended for a maximum of one additional period of three months
